Color is intense red. Aroma's of violets, rose petals and a hint of white pepper combine with rich, red currant, licorice and balanced oak. Tastes from the initial aromatics flow across the palate with freshness and harmonious complexity, revealing juicy red orange and red grapefruit. The classic licorice and mineral austerity is supported by oak and noticeable tannins, which soften as the wine ages.
The Nebbiolo grapes (100%), coming from two single historic vineyards, one in Serralunga adjacent to the Sperss vineyard and the other in La Morra adjacent to the Conteisa vineyard, undergo separate fermentation and maceration. Aged 12 months in oak, followed by blending and 18 more months in large oak casks.
